Police

Windsor Square is under the jurisdiction of the LAPD Wilshire Community Police Station, located at:

4861 West Venice Boulevard
(one block east of La Brea)
Los Angeles, CA 90019
213-473-0476

It is worth familiarizing yourself with the location of our station house. Many people don’t realize, for example, that every station in the city has a 24-hour ATM for people who are hesitant to visit their bank at night.

In the event of an emergency you should call 911. For non-emergency matters the LAPD recommends that you call (877) ASK-LAPD, but some neighbors report a less than satisfactory response. You might get better results by calling the Wilshire station house front desk at 213-473-0476.

You can also call our Senior Lead Officer (SLO). The Senior Lead Officer program is intended to improve the interface between neighborhoods and the LAPD. The neighborhood SLO is the neighborhood’s personal police chief.

The current Senior Lead Officer for Windsor Square is Dave Cordova. You can call him on his cell phone at 213-793-0650 or at Wilshire station by calling 213-922-8222.

LAPD is significantly undermanned compared to the police forces in other major cities. For this reason, some people refrain from calling them.

It’s worth saying again – The LAPD recommends the opposite. LAPD resources are allocated based on crime statistics. Only by reporting crimes in a timely fashion can we insure that Windsor Square is receiving its fair share of police attention. So call them. And if you don’t feel satisfied by the response, call them again.
